Hello My Lovely Friend – Resin

Happy Tuesday everyone! I am up on the BRI blog with a super fun and easy card featuring Concord & 9th Banners & Bloom and Lawn Fawn Fancy Folded Banners die using resin.  This was so much fun and so easy!

I started off with die cutting a piece of pink shimmer cardstock and Lawn Fawn Sparkle Pixie Dust card stock (which is my fave glitter cardstock) using Lawn Fawn’s Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables Die.  I adhered both panels to my card base using Mono permanent tape adhesive.  For my main panel I used a piece of Alcohol ink Yupo white paper and just loosely colored diagonally with various copic markers.  I wanted to try something a little different so I mixed some resin together and added some Lawn Fawn chunky glitter and glitter flakes to my resin mixture (when the resin has completely dried it will give the effect of the glitter “floating”).  What I like about resin is that it creates a “glass” effect.  It’s thicker than glaze and becomes hard and super shiny.  I then poured the mixture over my yupo panel.  Make sure your piece is level and to elevate your piece so the excess can drip off.  This resin is easy because it’s self-leveling.  Once poured I set aside to dry (as it takes 24 hours for the resin to completely harden)

While that was drying I decided to work on my sentiment and banner that I will add on top of the resin panel.  I ran the same pink shimmer cardstock through my die cutting machine using Lawn Fawn Fancy Folded Banners. This die is so versatile because you can build on to how many banners you would like.  Here I used two banners put together. I also used mirrored cardstock and added underneath my banner for dimension. I then used the sentiment from Concord&9 Banners and Blooms and stamped my sentiment using Versamark embossing ink and heat embossed using Lawn Fawn white embossing powder.

I added some Pretty Pink Posh Pearl White jewels for accents at the top and bottom tails of my banner.  Once my resin was dried I adhered my banner using foam adhesive tape.  I then adhered my entire resin panel onto my card using foam adhesive tape.  I truly loved making this bright fun card and I hope it inspires you try other mediums while card making.

Happy Galentine’s Day – MFT – BRI

Good Morning crafty friends! I am up on the BRI blog with a fun Valentine’s Day card for you best crafty girl friend featuring the My Favorite Things recent February release!

I was so excited to see this month’s mood board for February because I just adored the soft colors.  I wanted to create a Valentine’s Day card for a friend in non traditional Valentine’s Day colors.  I started off ink blending my panel using Distress Oxides in Scattered Straw, Milled Lavender, and Weathered Wood. Once I was done ink blending, I used the My Favorite Things Lots of Hearts Stencil and applied Nuvo Moonstone Glimmer Paste over the stencil onto my ink blended panel.  To say that I am obsessed with this glimmer paste is an understatement! It creates such beautiful shimmer over any color it is applied to! It is a must have!!  Once dried, I used the My Favorite Things Die-Namics Heart Trio Shaker Window die and ran it through my die cutting machine twice to make 2 rows.  Make sure the glimmer paste is completely dry before you do this!  I then laid my die cute panel over a piece of white cardstock and lightly traced the hearts.  This was so I was able to perfectly stamp my My Favorite Things Heart Art Stamps in the correct position.  I alternated each stamped image using Altenew premium dye inks in Blush, Limestone, and Butter Cream.

I then added the My Favorite Things Heart Trio Shaker Pouches using double sided tape.  I added some Pretty Pink Posh Jewels in Buttercream, Ivory and Pink Blush.   Once all my shaker elements were added, I adhered directly to my stamped heart card stock using double side tape. I adhered my complete shaker panel to my card base using foam adhesive.  For my sentiment, I used My Favorite Things Sassy Pants Love Stamp set.  This is such a fun sentiment stamp set for all your friends!  I heat embossed using Versamark embossing pad and LawnFawn White embossing powder. I adhered in the center of my panel using foam adhesive.

Up In The Air – MFT – Butterfly Reflections Ink

Upintheair mft bri 1

Hello crafty friends and welcome!! I am up on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog today showing you a fun card featuring My Favorite Things Up In the Air stamp set and coordinating die set.  This set is so cute and versatile, it’s perfect for Valentine’s Day!!

I wanted to try my hand at a “long” card instead of the usual A2 standard size.  I started off ink blending using Distress Ink Oxide Tumbled Glass and My Favorite Things Mini Cloud Edges Stencil.    This stencil is so easy to use and you can create endless clouds that come out perfect every time!  I stamped all my images using Gina K Amalgam Black Ink Pad.  This ink is amazing, it stamps bold, crisp lines every time and can be used with various coloring mediums.  Once stamped, I colored each image with various copic markers.  I then used the coordinating dies and ran through my die cutting machine.  For the bottom grass part of my card I used Lawnfawn Stitched Hillside Backdrop and just trimmed off the top.  I adhered to my cloud panel using Mono Permanent Tape Adhesive.  Now the fun part starts, where I “play” on placement for all my images.

Once laid out and I am happy with the placements, I adhered to my panel, some flat and some elements I used foam adhesive tape.  I added Lawnfawn Prisma Glitter to the front doors of my houses, and LawnFawn Chunky Glitter to my clouds. It’s hard to capture the sparkle but it adds the perfect touch.  I also used Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen to add sparkles to my hearts on the balloon.  This glitter pen is great because it’s clear and won’t change the color of your image but just adds a little shimmer! For my sentiment I stamped one of the many sayings that is included in this set with Versamark embossing pad and heat embossed with LawnFawn white embossing powder.

Stitched In Love – Turnabout

Happy Tuesday everyone! I am up on the Butterfly Reflections Ink Blog with a fun card using the new Concord & 9th Stitched in Love Turnabout stamp. This was my first time using a turnabout stamp! It was so easy and so much fun!!

concord&9th bri 1

To start off, I highly recommend using the new Turnabout Jig this makes it so easy to turn precisely and always have it lined up perfectly. I used Altenew Crisp Dye inks in 4 colors: Hydrangea, Wisteria, Aqualicious, and Almond Butter. Using my Mini Misti, I stamped 4 times in the different colors just rotating my jig, and not moving the stamp.  After all the colors were stamped, I re-stamped 4 more times with Versa Mark embossing ink and heat embossed using Wow Clear Sparkle Embossing Powder.  I adhered to my card base using foam adhesive.

I used the heart and sentiment that came with stamp set and used the Concord & 9th Holly Jolly Banner Die.  I ran it through my die cutting machine twice with 2 different colored card stock and overlapped them to create dimension.  I hope you enjoy this card as much as I had fun making it!! These turnabout stamps come in a variety of themes and they are so much fun!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic week! See you next Tuesday!
