Hi crafty friends, it’s been awhile but I am happy to be back crafting again and this time it was for a special occasion. It’s my dear friend Caly’s birthday and I wanted to create a special card just for her! She inspires me everyday with her creativity and I wanted to show her just a little appreciation and love!

I know she loves the color teal, so I started off ink blending my card panel with Distress Oxides in Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon. I then splashed with some white paint and put aside to dry as I worked on my image for the front panel. I used the amazing Pretty Pink Posh Floral Corners. I love these corners because they are perfect size and very versatile. You can color them with any color combination for any holiday or special occasion. I colored the floral corners using the new OLO Markers. I love how easily they blend with fewer color combinations in each color family. It takes the guessing work out of how many shades you want to blend. Once I was done with coloring my images I used the coordinating die and ran them through my die cutting machine.

I adhered my colored images using foam adhesive to each corner. I wanted to add a little extra sparkle so I used my white gel pen and added some sparkles and highlights on the leaves and petals.

For the center of my card and sentiment, I tried for the second time hot foiling! ( I can see why it’s so addicting) It may have taken me a couple of tries but finally came out perfect. I used the Pretty Pink Posh Celebrate Hot Foil plate. I then used the coordinating Celebrate Large Shadow die and ran it through my die cutting machine about five times using regular heavy weight white cardstock. I glued all the pieces together along with the foil piece on top to give it dimension.

It’s hard to photograph the shine the foil has but it is gorgeous!! I finished off my card with some sequins placed randomly. I hope she enjoys this card as much as I had making it just for her!
