Good Morning fellow crafters!! Today I am sharing a special card that I made for my beautiful mom for her birthday using Birch Press Designs Calen Die Set.  This was so much fun to make, I hope you like it as much as I do!!

My moms favorite color is red, so I knew I wanted that to be the main color of my card.  I started off with a red card base and white panel.  For my white panel I stamped My Favorite Things Magical Mandala Background stamp in VersaMark embossing ink. I heat embossed with InkOn3 Gold Rush embossing powder and set aside. The fun part was with Birchpress Design Calen Die set.  This is a 3 layer die set.  I used glitter card stock in red, silver and gold and mirrored gold card stock for my middle layer.  The possibilities are endless as you can decide many color combinations or how many layers you would like.  These dies are very intricate so I used my gemini jr. to cut out the pieces.  I also used the bottom layer and cut some pieces of foam so it would make it appear raised off my front panel since I couldn’t use foam adhesive because of how intricate the die is.

Once my pieces were cut, I glued together and adhered to my front panel.  Fort the sentiment I stamped a birthday saying from Clearly Besotted in VersaMark embossing ink.  I heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  I adhered to my card panel using foam adhesive.  I added some Swarovski crystals around points on the mandala for extra detail.
