Honey Bee Stamps – Hello Summer Blog Hop – Day 2

HBS Summer Banner Blog Hop

Hello crafty friends and welcome to Day 2 of the amazing Hello Summer Release from Honey Bee Stamps!  This release if filled with so much fun themed goodies perfect to welcome the summer season! I am super excited to be joining the hop and if you landed here from the fabulous Kelly Martin then you’re on the right track! Check the bottom of this post for the full blog hop list and make sure to hop along for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate from Honey Bee Stamps!

For my first card today I used the fabulous new Fineapple Stamp set. I love this set because of the versatility of either using it as a layered stamp or simply coloring using just the outline, which is exactly what I chose to do!

I started off with a light blue piece of card stock.  Using just the outline stamp, I stamped the pineapple randomly onto my panel using copic friendly black ink. I colored my pineapples using mainly copics and added some detail with colored pencils. I also used one of the word images “Aloha” from this stamp set, and stamped using black ink randomly around my pineapples. Before adhering to my card base, I trimmed down my panel slightly smaller using the A2 Thin Frame Honey Cuts.

For my sentiment, I used white embossing powder and heat embossed on black cardstock.  I used thecoordinating die to cut out and rearranged three rectangles from the A2 Thin Frames Honey Cuts to place under my sentiment for more dimension and detail.  I then adhered my die cut sentiment on top using foam adhesive. I also used some Spring Lullaby Gem Stickers that matched perfectly around my sentiment.

For my next card I used the new Luau Stamp set and Wish You Were Here Sentiments Stamp Set.

I started out masking off a rectangle on Neenah White cardstock and stamping the images using black ink.  I then masked my images before ink blending a Hawaiian sunset using Distress Ink Oxides in Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin and Squeezed Lemonade.  I colored my images using various copic markers and again using my colored pencils for some extra detail.  I heat embossed my sentiment on black cardstock with white embossing powder and adhered to my panel using foam adhesive. I trimmed down my white panel and a piece of black cardstock  using the A2 Thin Frame Honey Cuts before adhering to my card base. I added some black and gold embellishments for a finished look.
